Changing Mail settings

I have a windows ID that I sign in on my PC at home & on my Surface.

However, the email address I use as sign-in has not been setup correctly and I need to make changes to these settings in order to get my email.

However, I cant make changes to the signed in user account email settings as i am signed in.

Am I missing something?

Do I need to create another user and then make changes ?

Any other advise please Windows 8 guru's

I think I know what you want. Switch to a local account, do what you need to do, then switch back to your MS account.
