Can you draw effectively on the 90 degree angle of surface pro 2?

I'm looking into buying the surface pro 1 or 2. I could save some money and just get the 1 but I want to draw on it constantly. When you have the flap support at the back at 90 degrees can you draw on it very easily? or should I just get the surface pro 1?

How much better for drawing is the surface pro 3?

Welcome. My partner and I have always used it flat on a table/lap. I've never gotten on with using a pen with the kickstand, just feels unpleasant imo.

as to drawing between sp1/2 and sp3, I can't comment given the sp3 was my first surface, but it's worth bearing in mind that the SP3 moved away from wacom, and uses n-trig, and many will debate the pros and cons of each.

The biggest advantage of the newer form factor is they are much thinner especially noticeable when writing while it is flat on the table. Also the 3:2 is far superior to the 16:9 of the original form factor.
