I am looking to buy a surface pro 2 with 256 gb and have had trouble finding it.

When will they be readily available and will they be discountEd

And there's plenty for sale in America on eBay which are brand new, this is the cheapest currently available...

I doubt they will be discounted any time soon, only the RT models are up for sale in the Black Friday deals.

I just got my SP2 256GB and I live in the U.S. What I did was to go to Nowinstock (Google it) and set up an alert for the SP2. When I got the alert after 2 days, I bought mine from the Microsoft online store.

Discounts on the 2nd generation are extremely unlikely (you can get a 10% student discount) given that there are lower stock levels than for the first gen. If people are waiting for discounts, you have to weigh that decision against the likelihood that the model you want will be out of stock.

In the US they are available both online and in major retailers. While retailers may throw in some token discount, don't expect any significant price drop until next year. The Pro 2 will probably get discounted by next year's back to school sale.
