slow startup

Surface Pro 8, Windows 11 Home. Recently the startup process has intermittently become very slow (several minutes). Most of the time (but not always), during startup (from full shutdown), the Windows logo is displayed alone for 90 seconds, then a circular progress indicator is displayed below...
