I used the touch cover for the first few months I had the Surface, but since switching to the type cover I can't imagine going back. My typing speed and accuracy have improved greatly from the touch cover. It is a little thicker (of course), but not as much as you would think for a keyboard...

I watch Netflix movies on my 720p Panasonic Plasma TV with my RT and it works flawlessly. Just plug and play, love it.

I have a Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution mouse and keyboard. They work great, even the majority of the additional functions and audio controls work properly.

Only 12 cycles in, but my battery capacity is still 31,502. Thank you ttxzee for posting that command. I'll be keeping an eye on my battery now.

Congrats on getting such a good deal on your Surface. Like you, I am a bit ticked off by how the Surface is being skewered by the media. If the iPad measured up to the bar set for the Surface, I would have bought one for myself ages ago (not knocking it, but it has it's limitations too).
