Regarding your HP 8500 printer....
Did it not succeed when you had it connected via USB?
Can you try connecting via Wired or Wireless to the HP printer to see if it makes a difference
Can you confirm you are not able to use your surface to print to Kodak ESP C310 All-in-one Printer?
This printer should have inbox support so no additional loading of drivers is necessary.
