    In Settings > Storage (Windows 10 instructions) how much storage is being used by System & Reserved? If this figure is very high then disabling the System Reserved partition might buy you enough space. I have done this a few times on laptops with tiny eMMC drives.

    Is it definitely the system drive (e.g. C:) showing as full? It could be that a hidden partition is visible (e.g. Recovery). You might have a Windows Update issue - are updates installing correctly?

    A Kernel Power issue explains the closed apps. It could be caused by faulting hardware or software. Ruling out a few culprits might help. I would suggest keeping the Surface connected to the power supply to see if the problem persists and disable Bluetooth in Device Manager.

    This is not normal! If you open Windows Event Viewer and look in the Windows logs > System log you should see some time/date related events (e.g. Kernel Power)? It sounds like your system going to sleep and then powering down (e.g. shutdown). This can be caused by hardware and/or software.
