Yes, you are right. Hence possibly the reason to not have drivers publically but only update them via Windows Update, where needed.

True, but if you look at other general drivers like Intel Graphics, then MS does not seem to update older Surface devices like the 3 PRO.

The laptop package is a .msi and so not easily to "unzip". The latest versions are only MSI.....

iPad uses mobile OS, with very limited capabilities. Try to get a Surface 3 PRO which is a really nice device with a lot of capabilities.

My issue was solved on my system by updating the WIFI/BT/Realtek HD audio drivers from the Surface 4 PRO. After that I had no more CPU issues. My post on how that is done can be found on the Windows Central forum under Surface 3 PRO.

The issue is a new setting in AU. It is called (translated from German), "Save energy when my device detects I am not working". You can find it in settings, system, power and energy savings. Turn it off and you should be OK.
