    Screen wakeup

I just want to support this as well. I have been having wakeup issues since the day I bought my surface. After unchecking this box, I have had no issues with wake-up. Supposedly it can affect power drain when the computer is in sleep mode, but I haven't had any issues like that.

Black Screen and Won't Wake - KB Hot Fix posted

I Installed this driver as well and it did improve one issue that I was having. Periodically (frequently) Edge had the tendency to freeze my system for no reason at all. It require me to go into sleep/hibernate and then return back to windows. With the new Beta driver, this issue has been...

    Reawaken after sleep working now

I currently have mind set up to shut off the display after 1 minute (to save some battery life), and to sleep 'Never' In the "Advanced Power Settings" menu, under "Sleep", set "Hibernate after" to something in the 5-10 minutes zone. I have mine at 10 minutes.

    Reawaken after sleep working now

Very true, but I question the actual net effect in overall life of the SSD. I guess I am a skeptic that it will actually have a significant impact in terms of the number of years that I get out of my drive (sounds like an interesting study), and given the sleep issues with the Surface, it is a...

    Reawaken after sleep working now

The most popular current workaround is to simply not use sleep at all. Instead, set the device to never sleep, and instead use hibernate. This includes changing your power settings to hibernate when closing the lid, pressing the power button, etc. Although not a solution, it does get rid of the...

    Reawaken after sleep working now

Just as an update, disabling Windows Hello did not in fact help in the end. I just had some the black screen after trying to wake up from sleep issue.

How to make the i5/i7 SP4 fanless

You can play around with different percentages. I don't notice any real performance difference with 75%, but below that you may start to experience some undesirable slowing of the device. At 75%, I get anywhere from 6-7.5 hours out my Surface, depending on what I am doing with it. FYI, I just...

How to make the i5/i7 SP4 fanless

I definitely agree with this. I have the same model as you, and I noticed the fan kicking at some points, before I adjusted the Max processor state. Now I almost never hear it. My main concern wasn't really the fan; it was the battery life. The fan was just an added bonus.

How to make the i5/i7 SP4 fanless

You can reduce the 'Max Processor State" % in power settings, which will help with the overactive fan. The option is not available by default, so you have made a modification to make it appear. If you don't mind tweaking your registry slightly, you can use the registry key referred to in this...

    Reawaken after sleep working now

Interestingly, I just disabled Windows Hello to see if that would resolve my wake-up issues as well. It definitely seems to have made a difference for the better, but I have only had it disabled for a day so I can't make a definitive determination at this point.
