Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

My wife said the same thing and yet agreed with me it was not acceptable for a product of this price. Coincidentally the 128 GB SP5 I have has very minimal light bleed. There is some, but it really doesn't bother me. What bothers me far more is that Windows 10, sadly enough, is still a mess...

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

I ended up getting the newer i5/8GB/128GB, which had a much newer batch number, too. And sure enough: almost no lightbleed. There's a BIT of it, but certainly within acceptable limits. I've been using it since. I love the form factor, I love the screen. I love touch and I actually DO use it as...

Some Surface Devices Are Having Issues with Latest Windows Update

I kind of feel like there's nowhere to run these days. I left Apple behind, because I really didn't like the new machines - and the OS has issues enough. But now here I am on a premium Microsoft product and, well... big problems. Not just the update, but the machine is general seems a little...

    It's... sluggish

Keeping in mind that I'm coming from a MacBook Pro 13" 2017 (and have my wife's 12" MacBook to compare with, as well a 4-year old plastic Acer)... ... my new Surface Pro feels sluggish. As I type this, the letters take a fraction longer to appear than you'd expect. A bit of a stutter. Happens...

Some Surface Devices Are Having Issues with Latest Windows Update

Found the source of the problem in this article: Surface Pro (2017) owners hitting Win10 1803 update blue screens. Now we know why. It says: " Later in the thread, eljeffe58 says his brand-spanking-new Surface Pro 2017 has an . Intel SSDPEBKF128G7 SSD. BCVHOG says he has an SSDPEBKF256G7. Both...

Some Surface Devices Are Having Issues with Latest Windows Update

Jup, that must be what's wrong here with my brand new i5/8GB/128SSD Surface Pro. It just won't install the new 1803 update. The initial error I got was 0x0000005. There was another error later that I forgot to jot down (there was a 9 in there). Things I've tried: - Create a boot USB and do a...

But you did buy two and are enjoying using them? :)

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

It's up on the Media Markt store right now labeled as "new". Also on Tweakers.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

There is a new SP variant out: New Surface Pro with a Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 128GB SSD has the same price as 4GB model Since it's a later batch, I'm kind of hoping the bleed will be fixed.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

I'm glad to hear yours is fine. As I mentioned earlier, I have seen one that was fine myself in a store here. They even offered to let me buy that one, but wouldn't discount it for being a store model... -_-

    Microsoft Build 2018

Kind of surprised to see so few rumors with Microsoft's yearly conference around the corner. I'm personally holding out for a 8th gen Intel Surface Pro - but honestly I'd settle for one without lightbleed!

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

The one they had at Media Markt The Wall ALSO didn't have it. They do exist. :) Did you press CLTR+ALT+DEL to check a full blue screen? That's where it's most noticable. I intend to visit the Utrecht MM myself soon.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

Surprisingly, yes. But since you're holding the tablet in portrait mode, the white bar is on the left now. But yes, along that edge the white will be brighter than further inwards. And I didn't notice any wrinkles on any of the tablets I was handling - but then, I never was looking for it.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

During the blue boot screen it's the worst. I also distinctly notice it during browsing in tablet mode and you're on a largely white webpage (nu.nl comes to mind). But what really gets me is that you DON'T see it in landscape mode, if you're working. The darker menu bar hides the effect...

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

I've attached an image that shows what I mean. Notice the glowy bar at the bottom. Not the best pic, if it's darker it's that much more prominent.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

On the nSP it's not the black, but the whites that are the problem. You notice it especially at the blue startup screen, or when you cltr alt del. Neither the SL or the SB seem to suffer from this problem.

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

The models I've seen, all 13 of them, had a really fat bar of light coming from the bottom. I had people in the Media Markt and Coolblue agreeing with me it was unacceptable. Literally one of these units was a little better, but still pretty bad. So yeah, I think it's that bad. I'm now heavily...

Are there any SP5 models WITHOUT lightbleed?

I've wanted a SP5 for over a year now. I went through 9 models in 2017 and, exasperated, bought a Macbook Pro in the end. The reason? ALL the SP5 models had that hideous line of lightbleed at the bottom. I ended up selling the Macbook as, I didn't like that, either - I prefer Windows 10 over...

    Who's getting one?

Minor scratches, but yes. Wasn't a problem with the vendor where I got it. So, though I'd update this thread my experiences. I ended up going through 9 (read 'em: nine) Surface Pro units before I gave up. All of them had extreme lightbleed along the lower edge of the screen. The vendor ordered...

Not nearly making battery life (+ slow performance)

I'll one-up you guys. I returned this unit. Got refunded (no more stock). Ordered another from a different vendor. Significant lightbleed. Returned it to one of their stores. Guy gets another one from the magazine - guess what? Lightbleed! They send me another from storage the next day. ...
