@kfrank i wish to thank you for the update. It's not unusual to find a thread in a blind alley after the solution of the issue. Frequently internet is used as a place to let off steam. This is not the case. :)

@kfrank may I ask you if the battery drain issue occurs also when the Surface is in Airplane Mode?
