    Battery Wearing for a year

Guys. Leaving any device with a battery permanently plugged to wall power will shorten the life of the battery. You need to exersize/cycle the battery as much as you can. Every few days just run it down and then immediately charge it back up. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Driving me nuts: Pen constantly "lost" (i.e. SP3 not reacting to it). WHY???

My thoughts...If the battery is new and you've tried multiple pens then it is the tablet. Either corrupt OS, which could be fixed by reinstalling the corrupt pieces (a reset may be the quickest way). OR you have bad hardware. Maybe the Bluetooth chip is bad or overheating. Sent from my...

What is the best free ISO player ?

Best ISO player is Windows. It will mount the ISO just fine. But then I'm betting you don't realize the an ISO is simply a disk image and can contain any kind of data, most of which is not "playable". I use ImgBurn to create ISOs. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Surface disappointments

You should perform the reset, as suggested. Installing Windows 10 is not the same thing. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Even Microsoft had no clue what I was talking about...

Your best bet is to figure out what the original specs of the power supply are and buy a new one, from any company, with the same specs. Honestly all you need is the same voltage and amp output. If you are unlucky then you may need to cut off and solder on the old plug. Sent from my SM-N920V...

Recover Data from SP3 that will not power on

Crashplan as well. Great free software for backup to a usb drive and a remote computer running the free software. Paid service is great too. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

One Drive taking up local storage space

Have you tried the OneDrive Windows App (app not program)? I haven't, but I assume it acts like any other drive share phone app, that lets you upload and download/view, but doesn't sync with a local folder. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Boot to VHD

You could create a bootable USB drive with the contents of the VHD on the drive. Pretty sure also that your policy would not be ok with this as well.

    Solved Desktop disappeared

There is an option to disable the Auto Tablet Mode. With Auto Tablet it will enable without the keyboard.

    Alignment problems with pen

Sounds like a hardware issue. Take it to a MS store.

Has anyone gotten a 1TB MicroSD Card for their Surface Pros?

Could you use something like Plex, which streams your personal library?

Worst battery powered device ever, my SP3...

9 hours asleep is pitiful. I get several days easily. Of course, as has been mentioned, it all depends on what is waking up the computer.

    Boot to VHD

Not sure what your end goal is but why not run the VHD in Hyper-V?

CD import very slow through Dock USB

Likely this has everything to do with the specs of your external drive. Some drive are faster than others at reading music data CDs vs data CDs vs DVDs.

Digitize Cassette Tapes from Deck to SP3

The reason I would emphasize a USB sound card (which technically is an A/D and D/A converter) is because they record in stereo whereas I'm quite sure the SP3 Mic input is mono. Set your USB line In as the default recording device in Windows if Audacity doesn't have a setting.

Digitize Cassette Tapes from Deck to SP3

Get a USB sound card and record from that.

SP4 with 4GB RAM Photoshop Elements?

The cost of Photoshop has deceased significantly for home users. In fact, I would argue the opposite... If you can afford the base model Surface then you can afford Photoshop. GIMP is a fine piece of software too.
