I have the 512 gig version of the same machine, and haven't had this issue. I updated patches, and there was a firmware update for the machine as well. I did run into a blue screen one time where the machine restarted, but outside of that isolated instance I haven't had any issues the last ten days.

I'm looking at some of the results from the new MacBook Pro maxed out with the Polaris 460 and the new SB is about 20-25% faster in graphics performance. I really think the Surface team is on to something with this machine. Wouldn't surprise me if SB2 is designed to have modular bases for upgrades.

Was getting a lot of display driver crashes prior. Updated my SB i7/16/512 with the new DD and OS update, no BSOD or freezes. Just installed the update, restarted the system and it came back fine. No display driver crashes since, and now the new Surface Dock is working great with both of my 24"...

Big fix for flickering screens on the SB and the SP4 as well. I think this was effecting mostly SB users
