Yep Pimp my Band seems to be following a new trend with WP8 apps. Call it a trial and give all the features, if people like it they pay for it or not, their choice. I like this model so much I'm going to use for my app.

Hi Had exactly the same tonight. I fixed it by rebooting with 'volume down' held down. Then I reset my settings. When I went through the start up process I didn't select a previous setup. I created a new one. Same account but no settings and installs hanging around. Black flashing has gone...
