Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

I just attempted running the app and you are correct it does just crash. I personally am not experiencing the same issue as you but I did do a fresh install of 10041 and then upgraded to 10049 maybe that is why?

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

Download the Surface app from the store. You will be able to adjust the sensitivity settings for the pen. Hopefully that helps. I just signed a bunch of documents using Drawboard and had no issues.

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

Yup, I was constantly reading this thread, had downloaded the iso a while ago just didn't install. What web browser is everyone using? I did notice internet explorer is also a culprit in high fan use. I changed over to chrome and haven't had any issue. Does Opera or Firefox work better...

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

I caved and reinstalled windows 10 preview. Been using it for about an hour now and haven't had any issues. Haven't done anything to system intensive, upon my initial install I was having excessive fan use but as soon as I disabled Diagnostic Tracking Services the fan went silent instantly...

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

So I've done the jump back and forth a few times between 8.1 and 10. My reason for going back to 8.1 is always the fan noise. I was wondering if with any of the recent updates anyone has noticed any improvements in that aspect. I would like to point out I am using a Surface Pro 3 i7/256...

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

I actually had this issue with both windows 8.1 and windows 10 on my Surface Pro 3 i7. I just do the same thing you did, when I would hear the fan for no apparent reason I'd check and force close it.

    Email Client

sharpcolorado, thanks for the input that's what I was thinking. I have a feeling it may be the gsyncit program working along side of outlook but I am going to give it another run. I have noticed since installed the graphics drivers from the intel website my fan noise has gone down drastically...

    Email Client

Thanks for everyones input. I wish outlook worked with google calendar without the gsyncit add on. I really feel outlook was draining my battery I might give it another try. I like em client but the layout of outlook is very nice.

    Email Client

I was using Outlook 2013 as my primary email client and after several attempts at getting it to work with my Gmail settings (I purchased Gsyncit) I gave up due to outlook using too much system resources and making my surface fan turn on with basic tasks like downloading emails. I started to use...

    High fan with Dock

I am completely ok with the fan turning on high when I am running high impact apps like photoshop but for some reason whenever I used my dock my fan seems to stay on constantly. Is this something everyone experiences? When this occurs I do turn on core temp to track my temperature and cpu to...

Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

I've been trying out Windows 10 on my Surface Pro 3 i7. I did notice I was getting excessive fan noise like the CPU was running non stop as others have stated. After a recent update that stopped but I did notice that Background Intelligent Transfer Services (BITS) was using a rather large...

Solved Overheating/Overworking/Fan on all the time SP3

I was having the same issue and re-indexing the files fixed it. On a friends Surface I had to re configure their outlook emails. I believe what is happening is during the indexing it gets stuck at a email or corrupted file and doesn't proceed passed that point. You are correct it...

Just picked up the surface 3 i7/256gb. Haven't had any issues used it for about 4 hours continually. Love the screen real estate you can see an entire spreadsheet without squinting. As far as the fan and heat go no issues thus far. Fan kicked on during firmware and windows update but that's...
