Okay just noticed that if I go into Skype and options, I do see the forward facing camera initialize and show me my face in the small window, so it does appear to still be working there, although I can't test it in a full video call situation. So it just seems like the Microsoft camera app...

I never use the Surface camera (front or back) but I noticed last night that when I attempt to open it I am greeted with a gray screen and an eventual crash (app exits)... any idea where to even start troubleshooting this? I tried searching but couldn't really find anything other than someone...

I don't use the machine daily so it's hard to say if it was triggered by an update. I did notice that the pen cut out me (wouldn't register the dot or any clicks until I pulled the battery and reset the pen), right before I then noticed the digitizer weirdness.

The problem got stranger, where in the bottom left corner of the screen the pen hover dot would suddenly shoot off the right side of the screen. However, clearing the calibration seems to have resolved the issue. No idea why the calibration data became corrupted in the first place however.

Really unusual thing happened today, all of a sudden the pen doesn't register in a strip about 1/4" wide down the left side of the screen (in landscape, top of the screen in portrait). The little "dot" when you hover literally stops dead about 1/4" from the edge, and it basically just ignores...

My current 512GB has the play/looseness in the first bit of travel that some of the previous units I had didn't, but honestly it doesn't really bother me. At any of the angles where the kickstand would fall shut, I don't really find usable angles of the screen. I have MS complete so presumably...

FWIW on three different SP3's I never get less than 3-4% battery loss over the 4 hours of CS before hibernation. YMMV

NBC Sports Live Extra yes...it's the official NBC app so nothing shady but it definitely doesn't work very well in the streaming quality department. What's weird is that the quality was good the first day I used it but garbage ever since. Tried reinstalling it, etc., still no good.

This probably isn't surface specific but windows 8. I used this app for a day or so and it seemed fine streaming in HD, however now it seems everything comes through in about 240p or worse. Has anyone else gotten good quality in this app. Key points: Same app on Android phone perfect HD...

Update: After the full wipe, and carefully adding back in apps, plus turning off ALL live tiles, setting MUI Mail app to "manual" update for all accounts, and turning off ALL notifications, I seem to be getting 4% or less drain over 4 hours of Connected Standby. Not sure this is an ideal...

I've noticed that the icons on the desktop shuffle around when you rotate to portrait, which is fine, but they don't reassume their previous landscape positions when you rotate back to landscape...any fix for this? I like to have my recycle bin in the lower right corner but it keeps moving to...

Seems like we are still no closer to an answer as to why the i7 GPU seems permanently limited to about 599Mhz? Has there been an i7 model in the wild which consistently and repeatedly can deliver GPU speeds above 1000Mhz like the i5?

Look through the thread I have posted pictures of 4% over 2 hours, 9% over 4 hours, and more recently (with a full wipe and no apps installed), 4% over about 5 hours. Admittedly my results are inconsistent looking at pictures alone, but in practice I was very consistently getting at least 8%...

On 4 SP3's, this is the only time I've seen connected standby longer than 4 hours on battery (on A/C it seems to stay in CS indefinitely, which makes sense)
