Solved it: It happened as I removed the keyboard. Rebooting didn't fix it. This morning I connected the keyboard. During the start procedure I got a dialog “tablet-modus yes/no”. I clicked “no” and got my desktop back. I have not seen this dialog before yesterday. Ernst

Hello, my SP3 ethernet w'ont work (no connection), I still use Win 8.1 (with the newest updates), wifi works fine. I used different cabels, switched wifi off and on did many restarts checked the devce manager for newest drivers (which driver is important) Any Idea? Thanks for help

Nice sketch, are you an artist? But this position is really bad for the SP3. You get a pressure of about five till ten times the weight of the SP3 and this is really really bad for a very thin and prestressed glass . Hm, MS didn’t tell you “don’t hold it that way”. Big question for lawyers...

Can you make a thumbnail sketch for us, showing more or less the exact position of your fingers and where the SP3 was supported during the break (or did you hold it without a contact to the table?). Was the device cold or somewhere hot?

I totally agree with your first point (software problems). And yes, the SP3 is far away from being a really satisfying device. But it is a new concept, so we have to dare it and to suffer and wait. The SP3 is ok for my hobby but not in my work. And I don’t like Win_8 and the touch concept...

That is the pen from htc. For the normal work it is much better than the MS Pen.

I had the same issue when I first installed Win8 and Firefox Which Explorer did you download and from what page? Try to uninstall the explorer, download it from a save page and install it again.
