Virtual keyboard problem on SB2 15"

It is on, but has no effect at the "Logon on to your PC" screen, only applicable if you are already in the PC with the screen unlocked.

Virtual keyboard problem on SB2 15"

Strange and irritating recurring matter on my SB2 15". Periodically, and at random intervals, when I get to the logon screen, when I am in reverse screen attached mode (tablet turned around with the keyboard facing backwards) when I am at the logon screen, the virtual keyboard that should pop...

For those on the UK side of the pond, Marks and Spencer sell a leather (not PU pleather) briefcase with sling strap that holds the 15" SB2 comfortably and safely, sufficient internal space and pockets for the usual grab bag of USB drives and cables, PSU etc. Professional looking and doesn't...

Not nearly making battery life (+ slow performance)

OK, Blown away and re-installed Win10 from scratch (my fault, I was testing some software that was only one step up from adware) but it's given me a nice clean comparison. After install, downloaded circa 4 Gb of various patches, updates, local files I will want to use etc Installed Office...

Not nearly making battery life (+ slow performance)

Just started with my brand new shiny SP 2017 and yes.... During the initialisation when you are setting up accounts, syncing OneDrive, installing Office (2010, yes oldie but goldie), configuring Outlook with two mail accounts and syncing them, installing all the patches and so on and so...

    Hard-Case for Clipboard

Yep, my response was for the original poster, who hasn't bought one, suggesting was his view that it wasn't decent was not necessary reflected by a real world owner and user. I have owned the case for 10 months now and it has been heavily used and abused for work and personal use and so far has...

    Hard-Case for Clipboard

This is the one I got. "Surface Book Case, Icarercase Luxury Series Genuine Leather Detachable Folio Cover for Microsoft Surface Book 13.5 Inch" The version I got was the exotically named....Brown.... 8-) The other mock crock ones looked a bit naff. Amazon.com: Surface Book Case, Icarercase...

    Hard-Case for Clipboard

I have the plain brown leather version of that cover and it IS very good. Genuine leather as opposed to PU pleather, layered on a hard but flexible shell. The leather has a slightly distressed look and wears well, it secures very tightly to the SB and provides a nice compromise between a soft...

    Solved What would you do?

@ykmike In your earlier posts you mentioned this was a second hand SB you had purchased. Do you by any chance have a US Surface Book (doesn't have a £ symbol on the keyboard)..? If so therein may lie your problem with returns. I purchased my SB in the US, registered it on the UK site whilst in...

Latest MS patch causes continual screen detach, re-attach

Since the beginning of the week, my SB has started, about every 30 seconds, flashing up a screen detached, loss of keyboard connection then re-attaches the screen. Initially assumed it was the tarnished/dirty connection issue, so cleaned, blew out the connections etc. No joy, was about to give...

Sorry to start like this - Sb keeps saying attached

Same problem for me, appears to lie with the latest updates from MS, particularly KB4013429. Removed last two patches and the problem goes away, reload, problem comes back. Remember to do full cold boot (two button shutdown) afterwards twice and then I'm good to go. Quick and dirty workaround...

Positive (eventually) tale of Microsoft support

A awful lot of inaccurate assumptions on your part their "seneleron" First of all you really have no grasp of the consumer protection law in NJ or the UK which cares not one whit what MS wants to or does not want to do. In both jurisdictions, the law mandates that MS provide hardware warranty...

Positive (eventually) tale of Microsoft support

I, for work, float between the US and the UK and for cost reasons bought my SB in the US. All well and good until about 6 months later when I started to get bad yellow tinting around the edge of the screen whenever it started to warm up. OK, MS (by this time) were selling the SB in the UK, I...

    Specifications Advice

Bit of advice, people mostly post if they are unhappy with something rarely if they are happy with it. As an example, I have the i5 8Gb 256Gb with dGPU, bought 6 weeks after release. After the usual round of MS updates and patches during the first month, then normal cycle since I have had...
