Windows 10 Preview on Surface Pro 3

If you download process monitor, you should be able to determine the entries it's writing into the registry when you're making an adjustment. From there, you can export them and re-import them after going with an MS 'approved' driver. We're doing practically the same thing regarding setting...

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

Probably not. The new one won't come with a power adapter, FYI. It also wont fix the problem, most likely. :(

External Display? 1440p or 4k? 24" or 27" ? What would you suggest?

Surface Pro 3 - Custom Resolution(s) Registry Entry Add in the custom resolutions, choose the one that works best for you on the panel. Run everything at 100% scaling and choose absolutely any monitor that you want. I run my S3 panel at 1728x1152 (25% Scaling) and it still looks gorgeous.

    Secondary Monitor scaling

I posted on the other forum how we've chosen to deal with it at my firm: Surface Pro 3 - Custom Resolution(s) Registry Entry We add custom resolutions in so we don't have the deal with the mess that is Windows 8 DPI scaling.

    2nd monitor via USB adapter

We've deployed about 30 of these with exactly zero issues: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BSREURI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Again, it's the Displaylink chipset. Make sure you have a recent version of the drivers - earlier ones broke connect standby.

Solved SP3 multi-mon dpi scaling tweak

This thread is amazing - exactly what I was looking for. FYI, this is what I did: Installed the older version of the Intel driver. Added custom resolutions equivalent to 125% scaling and 150% scaling 1920 x 1280 x 60hz 1440 x 960 x 60hz Updated to the latest and greatest Intel driver...

Drawboard PDF Missing from App Store

I was there yesterday, but now I'm getting a message that the application is no longer available. Anyone know what's going on? I've tweeted the company BTW with no response as of yet.

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

Replacement Surface arrived, and it works PERFECT. Received it, ran through all Windows updates rebooting after each group, and plugged it in. No issues so far. Behavior mimics the i3 that we received yesterday. FWIW, there are slight differences between my launch day Surface (that is going...

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

I ordered in an i3 for testing (we're planning on deploying 40 or so) and it works perfectly with all cables, with all monitors, including all adapters. A replacement Surface i5 is on the way. We'll see if that manages to work right - I'm suspecting it will.

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

I don't think that's the consensus at all. There have been conflicting reports of the same cables and monitors working on some Surfaces and not others. (i.e. myself and @Kif) If I were to take a stab at a reason, it's either a manufacturing defect with the dock or a firmware issue periodically...

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

I have one of the adaptors in that post on order right now, due in on Wednesday. I'll confirm if it works on not when I receive it. FWIW, folks in the thread on answers.microsoft.com have stated repeatedly that active adaptors - specifically those made by Apple - do not work.

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

It works great when connected directly to the tablet - on all monitors, with all cables that I've tried. I've yet to encounter a single combination of docks, cables, or monitors (regardless of settings) that work at all - prior to or post refreshing/resetting the tablet. I'm no chaining, and...

Mini DisplayPort on new docking station doesn't work

Add me to the list of folks this is not working correctly for. Multiple Dell monitors with multiple MiniDP to DP cables - nothing works. Edit: @Kif recommended a cable that worked for him on a Dell monitor. I have that exact same cable, along with that Dell monitor and it is not working for me.

    External Monitor Screen Flicker

Check the refresh rate. It's probably set to 59Hz. I had to go and manually correct my external monitor to 60.
