I have an SP3 and now the SP4. Chief reason for my upgrade was the whole fan thing. I have done a bunch of so loading and updates and the only time it came on was when I was doing big updates. Otherwise has been silent. Definitely glad I made the upgrade.

I really like it too. It just feels so much better and the eraser on the end is definitely the best thing they did with it.

There was also a separate update to the Ethernet drivers as well.

Locked up mode is working fine for me. I also ordered the Fingerprint reader version. Superfast log-in and no need to type anything. A great upgrade!!

My 2 cents and not knowing what you use the device for. Unless you were stepping up to an 8GB RAM model, I would stick with the S3. I have both as well and was really torn between the two. The S3 is lighter, silent, and the performance is excellent considering the price.

I have both the Lexar 128GB and the Samsung Pro 64. I had the same issue with the Lexar in the 128GB in the S3 I gave to my daughter for school but did not have the same issue with the SP3. The Samsung Pro 64 has been perfect on both the S3 and the SP3.

I like that the unit does this. At times when you are believing that the unit might be hung up, seeing the light flash lets me know that the unit is working properly. I look at it more of a feature than anything else.
