Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

I could have just used my 15" sb2, but that gets heavy after awhile. Next week I will be at MS Ignite and that is a ton of walking and moving to different rooms and buildings. The go will be far lighter to lug around. I have an android tablet, never use it anymore. I have a note 9 phone...

Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

Because I sometimes need windows apps if I travel, like next week. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Who is getting one? Why or Why not?

I got the most basic model with points I had stored up. My main PC is SB2, this one stays in my living room as a media consumption device and for quick Google searches and random solitaire games. For my needs, its perfect. When I need real power or games, I have my "real" computer. Sent...

Similar issue here, but always the xbox univ app running tho I never start it. It is disabled in background but does re start later in the day. For the Op tho, you can open task manager in reverse keyboard mode and kill it. You dont need to start and close the app. You could make a bat or...

Surface pro 4 screen shake, freeze, horizontal lines across the screen

Others have done that as well, and not fixed.

Get pro4 or wait for 5

On the bright side for you, you have options. I'd wait for the 5 to come out, then watch ebay and craigslist get flooded with used sp4's as new buyers rush to sell the old ones.

Surface pro 4 screen shake, freeze, horizontal lines across the screen

I started having this issue after the last firmware update. Question for you. On the sp4-if you move a mouse or touch the screen-does it stop? I hid my issue with an animated pointer. I fully feel the issue is software or firmware but not a hardware issue.

Ah, ok. I don't spend any time in the SB forums so I won't wait around hoping for MS goodies on my sp4. :)

You're the only one that has mentioned firmware updates. Nothing else I've seen so far. Maybe it's a Book only thing. Any version numbers?

14955, new docking station. I've seen 1/2 dozen or more reports of ethernet dropping connection and reconnecting.

    Discontinued

This sucks. I actually liked the band 2. Now I have a band 1, and a NIB band 2 and the odds of being able to resell either just went way down.

    Interesting skylake power management

Lol, well we aren't the rocket scientists who came up with this then shrunk it down to 14nm.

    Interesting skylake power management

Under load, the cycling would be off, but for tasks that aren't a heavy load, having 1/2 the processor in c6 state would save a ton of battery. Ex watching a movie encoded in an efficient codec. It'll sleep part of the CPU and part of the GPU. If you did that for example while watching a...

    Interesting skylake power management

Greyfox, that's one of the optimizations, however, from what I've been able to tell, it disabled by default (Processor Duty cycle) and the OS or computer manufacturer has to flag it to enable it. Not all systems like to have parts of the core processor turn itself off. Win 10 supposedly had...

    Interesting skylake power management

I've been digging around looking for tidbits on battery savings. One of the features I found reviewing the skylake processor info is Duty Cycle. "Skylake systems-on-chips will offer another power saving feature: duty cycling. The processor's energy consumption is proportional to the square of...

Updated Firmware and Drivers - August 30, 2016

Nah, they won't break this again. They'll find something else that's working and break it instead. :)
