I love hearing this sort of stuff. Even if the SP never sells as well as the iPad, if you know what you're talking about you know the value of the product. I've mentioned it before on here but I wish the SP existed while I was at Uni doing engineering, so many cool tricks up its sleeves.

Interesting stuff and a 10% boost in FPS is certainly not insignificant. People (like me) spend a lot of money for a lot less. If it's coming or exists on the Surface Book it will be a great marketing feature. It won't make the difference for someone who needs desktop grade graphics performance...

I think people may be comparing it to a gaming laptop of a similar price which is a big mistake. It's well behind in terms of performance but that's not what you pay for with the Surface Book. You're paying for the ingenuity and versatility of the device.

With regards to setting up clean. In my opinion you'll only need Anti Virus if you don't trust yourself not to do something stupid. If you're pretty web smart you'll be avoiding the ad's that say "QUICK DOWNLOAD TO FIX PC". Personally I run business stuff on my Surface so I run some pretty high...

I worked it out by the way they are the same pen. I thought there was a version with a traditional pencil shape but the pen is actually curved with one flat side.

I should slow down! When I first looked at the site the only mention of weight was the weight of the screen. They seem to be updating it a lot.

What he said, to be honest I think you can't really go wrong, just set your budget. For me GPU isn't important enough for the price so it'll be i5 SP4.

I have to say the pricing is a little steep, not for what it is but I really couldn't justify it stacked up against the SP4. The GPU model starts at $1899....

To be fair if they ditched the fan I personally wouldn't buy it. Sorry but you just cannot get the level of performance we have become accustomed to with fanless CPUs. The whole point of it being a pro was that it was a full x86, full OS, i-series CPU beast. Although no-one told Apple that.

Is this a joke? MS copied Apple? A. Why does anyone really care who copies who. B. I think the ripping off has been mainly aimed at MS lately. Agreed on the SP4 not game changing but to be fair, USB 3, windows hello and Skylake make it worth the upgrade.

I would imagine the top and bottom cannot be ultra thin, the keyboard needs to magnetically attached at the bottom and there must be a webcam at the top.
