    Pen Freezing

Mine freezes about every paragraph or two while writing notes. It becomes responsive again about 15 s or so later. I just reloaded/repaired MS Office, will see if that helps. I also have experienced that the pen button no longer calls up a quick note in Windows 10.

    Pen Freezing

I am having the issue too, but have not found a solution yet other than waiting for the pen to come back.

New iphone owner - how do you integrate with the Surface Pro 3

To set the record straight, there have been 9 reports (out of 10 MILLION iPhones) of bent phones. Consumer Reports did a scientific study of how much force it takes to bend an iPhone (as well as several Android phones) and the iPhone was at the low end but outperformed the HTC One and beat its...

    Drawing on webpages and saving

You can print the website to OneNote using the "Send to OneNote 2013" printer. It will paginate it so not exactly what you want, but closer than just a simple screen grab.

Taskbar is in the way while using Modern UI Apps

I think you misunderstood Kif. I turned off showing store apps in the task bar, but then I turned it back on. I now have the behavior that I (and I think you) want. When I am in desktop the apps show in the taskbar and the taskbar is always on. When I switch to a Metro UI app either by swipe...

Taskbar is in the way while using Modern UI Apps

The fix didn't work for me either, but I fixed it as follows: In taskbar properties uncheck "Lock the taskbar" and "Show Windows Store apps on the taskbar" Click OK It should be fixed now. You can also go back can check both of those and it remains fixed. Time will tell if it remains fixed for...

Did Your SP3 Come with BitLocker Fully Enabled?

I don't remember having a yellow triangle. I do have the padlock on the C: drive icon. My manage bde status is the same as yours. I also remember answering a question as part of the initial setup whether I wanted the drive "encrypted" or "protected" or some such wording. I answered yes.

SP3 on an airplane: tablet or laptop?

I've flown 4 times with mine. Once was in a small laptop bag with an iPad and other random power cords and accessories, all jumbled together. The other was in a TSA-ready laptop backpack with my work laptop and a bunch of other electronics components (2 development boards, assorted cables and...

Accessory? Keyboard to SP3 cord for airplanes

I stand corrected. It looks like Southwest does now allow Bluetooth. In the words of the immortal Emily Latella: "Never mind"

Accessory? Keyboard to SP3 cord for airplanes

From United Hemispheres magazine - latest issue: It is up to the individual airlines to allow various PEDs, which must, by FAA regs, be certified as conforming by the airline. I know of no airline that allows Bluetooth.

Accessory? Keyboard to SP3 cord for airplanes

Bluetooth will work on a plane. But it is not legal.

Accessory? Keyboard to SP3 cord for airplanes

Note that Bluetooth accessories can not be used in flight on commercial aircraft. They are intentional transmitters like a cellphone and are not allowed unless they are in airplane mode - which defeats the purpose of a wireless mouse.

Note that the $4 pen has $4.75 shipping, so the difference is not that much compared to $9 with free 2-day shipping if you have Prime.

    SSD-Question

For a SATA or SAS SSD (I'm not as familiar with eMMC/SD Cards/USB thumbdrives), replacing a bad block does not reduce the available storage (i.e. does not reduce MAX_LBA). The capacity of the drive remains the same. You lose a physical block but not a logical block. Modern SSDs maintain a...

    SSD-Question

Overprovisioning is a standard feature of every SSD. Basically, every SSD has more physical blocks than the capacity of the drive, to allow for wear leveling and replacing blocks as they wear out. It is uncommon to be able to set the amount of overprovisioning, but you can get the same benefit...
