Given those errors, if it was ANY OTHER MACHINE I'd say you had a bad GPU. Just to be sure I'd download, say, 3dmark and run through the benchmarks, see if you can get it to consistently crash. That should tell you definitively if it's a hardware or software error.

2 x 980 performance in a ultra small form factor WILL happen... Eventually. Whether program power requirements will make them the future equivalent of today's integrated graphics is another story entirely. Look at today's SB vs a gaming rig from... Say... 1997 for instance.

You can disable connected standby to access the whole Windows power options scheme. Create a new profile, set the settings you want, SAVE IT and re enable connected standby. This SHOULD resolve your issue. Typically used by surface pro owners to enable high performance setting on integrated gfx.

At this point best suggestion is to uninstall both Intel and nvidia GPU drivers and restart. The SB will auto detect and reinstall drivers after restarting. Make sure you download the driver package from ms before doing this JUST TO BE SURE that you won't need them. Safety first If that does...
