Nobody's done a teardown of the 15 inch yet so nothing is confirmed. I suspect that the GPU is in the base like it was on the last surface book. I know when I play a game the fan in the base goes into overdrive. Most likely that program is using the nvidia GPU and it can't swap to the intel gpu...

MS claims an unqualified 6GB of vram. Running tests I'm getting a lot of conflicting results. Speccy claims to only see 2gb. Can I run it only sees 3GB. Nvidia and DX12 check claim 6GB.

Any chance windows onedrive is pulling stuff from your other windows 10 computer(s) to you new computer? Mine keeps doing that. You can open up backed up folders and select which ones you want onedrive so save.

Solid gray is a stress test. I am incapable of see any variation when looking at complex images. I only notice if I'm look for it while viewing large color fields like in browsers.

I'm feeling the same way. I just try to focus on what I do like about and fortunately for me there's still plenty to like. I have a 3 grand edge lit LED samsung TV and the uniformity is far poorer than this screen. It's just a problem with how monitors distribute lite on edge lit screens...

I've settled for enhanced in color management while stipping down red channel by two steps and and green by one using the calibration tool. Overall I can be satisfied with this.
