The light stays on all the time even when the battery in full. Mine takes around two hours to full charge when I least looked.
I wouldn't worry about your surface battery. Mine goes down at about the rate yours does. Every battery has a different life span and some are better than others. Try...
Ive not got as far as installing 8.1 RTM on my desktop machines yet... but after using it on my RT for awhile Im missing it. Just under a month to go but I don't know if I can wait that long. :yelling:
Humm Im not sure what you've done with the USB stick but the only way to go back is the reset it to factory defaults. The RT doesn't have a system state backup like the pro or a normal Windows pc does. Or you ould update to the RTM of 8.1 which would save you changing again later. It is faster...
You would not regret it. I find myself pulling out old devices to install the latest version of Windows a lot. Even if I don't use them :). Bit of a challenge I guess.

Connected standby is what the RT is in all the time. The power button only even really turns the screen off; WiFi and...
1) Almost all keyboards and mice will work with the Surface RT. The extra software for them cant be used though but Microsoft generic ones work fine.
2) Not sure on your exact needs but I think you can play .mkv files via an app. Someone will let me know what or do a search in the store. Or...
You will get a email asking you do you trust this computer you've just logged into. Security feature.
I'm not certain as I never installed the preview but would guess it does restore to 8.1 yes.
If your using a Microsoft Account all your accounts will be synced. You need to trust the computer first though I believe. Apps you will need to reinstall from the store, my apps screen.
Yes loads. 8.1 is far better than 8 especially for RT.
That tutorial is much more detailed than mine but hes covering windows 8 and not RT. There are a couple of differences.
I also added create a recovery drive in case something went wrong to the tutorial.
When RT 8.1 is released it will be the RTM version. There will only be updates from windows update to install. So after you've installed this that's it.
