I literally just got my hands on the new type cover 10 minutes ago and I can already say it's a huge improvement over the old one. Keys seem much easier to hit and the trackpad is larger. It's a lot better!

good to hear, I didn't have any issues this morning and I'm fully updated so fingers are crossed.

I installed GTA3 from the windows store to see if I could get the fan to come on. It came on after around 15 minutes and was as loud as the SP3 but the device itself wasn't as warm. So it looks like the fan will come on under heavy use but it's less frequent and cooler than the SP3.

It's disappointing to hear these are still issues. I used to have these problems with my Sp2 which is why I updated to the SP3.
