Deformed SP3? Anyone notice that their SP3 is curved outwards in the middle?

I just did a flatness test on mine and it seems to be pretty flat. you can find a surface that you think it is as flat as possible. Put your SF3 face down. Use a piece of paper, printer paper. Use the corner of paper and slide under the faced down SF3. it should at least give you some idea...

On Win including SF3, I mainly use Microsoft RDP. I use Jump Desktop on Mac which is VNC/RDP and I really like this app. The only thing I don't like in SF3 when use RDP, there is no pixel scaling. At least, I couldn't figure out. The resolution is so high, everything is small. I had to...

    Wont turn on!

I guess, you did all the obvious and didn't help. If nothing else work, I think you might want to exchange it. As far as your data goes, I guess you can try to put Ubuntu on USB stick and boot off the USB (if it can), than clean your data. If it is real HW issue, you probably won't be able to...

    Wont turn on!

I know you said you had 40%. I think, you simply ran out of juice. I would try with power plug first. Plug the charger in(the end of cable pointing upward) and wait for good 5-10 min, then power it up.

    Power cable fraying

I and many folks from Apple world simply use black electrical tape. You first apply enough on the cable so it will flush with the end of the harness. Then apply second layer of electrical tape that wrap the end piece of the harness together with cable. I have been doing this for years.

Beware how you open the box!

Now a day, almost all manufactures packaged device this way. That is the reason I always unbox on carpet floor while sitting down on the floor. If stuff came off unexpectedly it would land on the carpet floor. The problem with SF3 is, it is big and has some weight. There is not enough...
