    Microsoft Store Distribution

That is helpful information, GreyFox7, so if I go to the Best Buy website do they say which stores include a "Windows" store. To some extent, I do agree with goodintentions, they may have some trained sales people but it hasn't been my experience that that was a norm. Fortunately, I can come...

    LTE or not LTE?

If my vehicles had GPS, I'd probably agree. And since it's already on my phone, I probably don't need it on my tablet. How many GPS devices does one person needs, and there is probably a USB GPS available if I really want one.

    Microsoft Store Distribution

Come on Microsoft. Staples and Best Buy can let you get your hands on the devices, I haven't found anyone at either store that could answer even the most rudimentary question about anything Microsoft. The people at Staples seem to run in the other direction if they see that's what you're...

    LTE or not LTE?

There is one caveat to my choice. Didn't I read somewhere that the LTE version has a GPS? I'd almost consider paying the extra for the LTE version to get the GPS (I'd just never hook up the LTE service). Now if they'd offer the GPS without the LTE that'd be hearing the customer base.

    LTE or not LTE?

No LTE for me, thanks anyway. Using my phone as a hotspot works quite well for the times when there is no WiFi. Like ctitanic said one bill is enough.

    Comparing to the RT

I've been interested in upgrading from my Surface RT for a while now. I had kind of convinced myself I liked the Pro 3 i3, then this came out. I use my Surface for word processing, keeping up with email and surfing the internet, my concept of gaming is Words With Friends on Facebook. I use...

    The Surface 3 waiting room

Here's my take on the comparison between any Surface and anything made by Dell (I believe that's where the aforementioned Stream comes from). If it isn't a high end Dell for corporate use I want no part of it. I've found the build quality and especially the battery quality of every consumer...

    Microsoft Annouces the Surface 3

Well, if it works I'll be satisfied. The ARM has been very good for me, but this looks like the next thing. I'll see what experience people have and maybe in June or so I can get one. I'm not known for being first to jump on the new thing.

am i the only one who is going to miss the charms bar?

I used computers before there were mice, in fact, I used them before there were keyboards; you input your information on punch cards. The charms bar is fine. Whatever comes next may or may not be an improvement (to me); it will just be the next thing I have to learn to get things done with...

How to improve the camera resolution? ZOOM !

Although I did not buy my Surface for the camera, when I buy an item that's supposed to have a 5 mp camera, I expect to have the use of a decent camera. As it is, I would prefer that Surface not have a camera and charge less money than have what it claims is a camera.

    No Trade

I've got a son who wants to go to school. I've got a feeling this RT would meet his note taking, paper writing requirements handily. I'd rather do a factory reset and give it to the kid next door than let Microsoft have it for 96 dollars and then give them another 6 or 7 hundred for a Pro 3.

    No Trade

So, I was looking at the Pro 3, and the store website said they'd take my RT in trade. I've opined on here before that I'd just keep the RT, because I don't like to have electronics which have had my personal info on them get out of my hands. Still, I thought I could restore it to the way it...

    SP3 with old type cover

I'm sure I will get the new Type Cover, sometime, but being able to use the old one until the right time comes along to get the new one is helpful to me.

    SP3 with old type cover

Thank you both. GreyFox7 spoke to my two chief concerns: 1. That the two would work together 2. That the SP3 would work for my purposes at least as good as the RT Fonsecaj, I'm comfortable using the RT as a laptop replacement, so I can only assume the SP3 will only be better. When I'm a little...

    SP3 with old type cover

I'm leaning toward the 64 GB SP3, since I only use it for word processing and internet access. I've been happy with my Surface RT and I think the I3 version will be a step up from the RT. I'll probably keep my current type cover, they say it'll work with it OK, and I've been happy enough.

suddenly type cover keys not working

CColtmanm, two posts down, described a similar problem and said "I had filter keys selected. :( fixed now" I don't know what that means .

suddenly type cover keys not working

I'm not sure what's happened, but it's also affected my laptop. trackpad works, keyboard doesn't. if it weren't for the onscreen keyboard on the surface I wouldn't have a way of inputting text right now.
