    LOOKING FOR USER FEEDBACK

I suspect that most of the 'nightmare' stories are dated. Various updates have fixed the majority of those issues. Nothing is perfect, so there is the risk that you will get a lemon. But I suspect that if you enjoy the SP3, you will also enjoy the SB.

    Suggest Bluetooth mouse

I been using a Bluetooth Logitech T630. Nice and thin, and has a 'touch' sensor for scrolling. I always hated the add on mouse dongles sticking out of the USB port.

    Battery Life Question

I use chrome on an older slow laptop. It runs well fast, but it keeps the processor busy and the fans spinning. On the Surface Book (and my older Surface Pro), I use Edge 100% of the time. It feels lean and efficient. Though I have encountered a few glitches, it mostly works well for me.

    Surface book screen issue

I had the happen once in the year I have owned it. A mild contact cleaner to the contacts in the blade appears to have cured it.

I give up, how does the SB's clipboard attach?

I'm convinced that it is a sprag clutch type arrangement. You can see a mark on the back of the post from it, and you can sort of see it inside the clipboard. It appears to have a small roller in the hole of the clipboard. The harder you pull on it, the harder the roller pinches the post. The...

Microsoft pushes out new Surface UEFI and Firmware October updates

Reinstall Windows or exchange the device. Mine has been solid since the updates early this year. I run office and Visual studio. I don't recall the last time I had any issue.

How to find which program is using most space on disk?

I've found that TreeSize Touch is incredibly slow compared to TreeSize Free. Wow. It is a big difference.

Freezing, Black Screen, Generally a POS

Since the updates way back in February or whenever it was early this year, mine has been nearly perfect. Sounds like you need to get it replaced.

Solved Is there another way of starting the SPro other than pushing the power button?

Well, it took a lot of heat, and a lot of care, but I finally was able to carefully remove the screen. There is a thin 'spacer' in the button that had gotten pushed out. I repaired that and reassembled the unit. It now powers off and on again. YEAH! Well, until I realized that there is now a...

How to find which program is using most space on disk?

I use Treesize Free from JAM software. Just noticed that TreeSize touch is the touch version. I'll likely install that now.

Solved Is there another way of starting the SPro other than pushing the power button?

Well, I think I bumped my power button against the external battery pack that I carry with me. Now the button is bad. Has anyone figured out how to get one open?

    Touchscreen issues

It SHOULD be disabled by the magnetic sensors. Are you putting anything in the gap between the base and screen that might interfere with the magnet? Do you have any speakers (like the cell phone speaker) nearby that might interfere?

The 'Much Criticised' SB Fulcrum Hinge

It works for me. As you open the laptop, the point that touches moves back, keeping it from tipping easily. As you close it, it rolls forward making the unit a little smaller. What it not to like about that? So some whiner out there sees a gap when closed. They can get a cheesy plastic laptop...

Anyone getting more than 144Mbps on 2.4Ghz?

Now I'm at 270Mbps. But I am a couple of rooms away from the access point.

BTW, are you using Bluetooth at the same time.

    Wifi/bluetooth when base is detached/attached

I just tried a huge file over 5GHz WiFi from the other side of the house. I get about 5MBps, attached and detached. (my remote hard disk is on a slower USB so that is the fastest I can get there)
