I have not tried this, but couldn't you download the 8.X ISO directly from Microsoft and use the embedded BIOS product Key in the Surface to activate? Trying to recall if the earlier Surfaces came with 8.0 or 8.1? Then I believe you can download the latest Surface firmware from the Microsoft...

I finally got my DaisyChain Monitors working in Windows 10. I had to disable the DDC/CI setting on the second Monitor. No more External USB dock!

I updated to 4212 and I can confirm that DaisyChain is still broken and it also breaks my second monitor using USB 3.0 DisplayLink dock. I rolled backed since I was at work. I was so hopeful, yet getting used to the disappointment. What is everybody else using to drive multiple monitors...
