The docking connector will be kept the same on the SP5. The CPU may use a Coffee Lake processor instead of a Kaby Lake one. Who knows about the screen size, screen resolution and battery life. I've gotten 4-5 hours of battery life on my SP4 from using YouTube and web surfing.

The SP5 won't come out until October. (so the rumor says). If you can get some more mileage out of your Macbook Pro and wait it out until the SP5 comes out, patience is a virtue.

That's why I was questioning the reliability of the article in the first place. It doesn't seem like Microsoft to not use an Intel processor for their Surface or Surface Pro products.

I say wait for the Surface Pro 5 and see if it pushes the price of the Surface Pro 4 down. Currently, the SP4 is an excellent machine and it would be interesting to see what improvements the SP5 presents.

Perhaps someone else can help you but I still say you should be using a Surface Book instead of an SP4 for gaming, art or web-design.

It looks like you'll be one of the first few to try one of these monitors out with an SP4. Any of those monitors you specified should work with the SP4 according to the link you provided since the maximum resolution is 4096x2304@60Hz.

You should have gotten the Surface Book instead of an SP4 if you were to do some gaming because a Surface Book has an Nvidia GPU. Did you really think an SP4 was a gaming machine?

I also use Mozilla Firefox for dual monitor use but that browser gives me a "not responding" error from time to time. Chrome hasn't given me any problems or errors. One thing I like about Edge is the inking capability on web pages.

Yes I have which is why I use Google Chrome. I do use Edge once in a while for sites that don't work on Chrome.

Usually when I wake my SP4 from suspend mode the brightness level goes up but then comes down automatically on the facial recognition login screen. Never had to manually adjust the brightness since I got my SP4.
