Got mine set up now. Waiting on 10565 build to come down. Ended up with the i5 256/8 version. A step up in ram from my previous Surfaces that all had 4, except Surface 2.
Overall, very pleased at how well Hello works. My main reason for upgrading. The other was to support 4k@30 to my 50" 4k tv...
Absolutely. Looking forward to seamlessly pick up a text on either device and even the pc from the 950xl. That and Windows Hello on the phone will make for a pretty nice upgrade from my 830. And, I didn't get a Book, but got an SP4. Needed more of a tablet 80% of time.
That's a fair assessment.. all things being equal.
All is not equal though. With SPB, you get pen, touch, tablet, discreet GPU. There's so much more value at that same price that it's justified.
Saw the Book and SP4 today. I'm mostly a tablet user and had my mind set on SP4. The Book is amazing too despite the downsides of no stand and lower battery life. The tablet portion felt lighter than my SP3 even though they're about the same. Like I said before, as much as I like Book, I can't...
I would say so. Assuming equal processor. The gpu will be the integrated gpu which will be better than the Haswell based cpu/gpu from SP3. Obviously, less battery with the bigger screen.
They should've just done this for SP4. Why they went with a separate all new, less useful design on Book is perplexing. They could've had amazing piece of tech there, instead it's a HUGELY compromised tablet mode. Only 4 hrs. battery and no stand takes away from the Surface form factor.
Wobble was just a minor concern.
The big deal is the portability and utility of a built in stand when I want to use it as a tablet. In order to support angles on a table/sofa/lap while browsing, i'd have to lug around another 1.5 lbs. This defeats the benefit of it being a Surface tablet. Now...
If you watch this simulcast, Leo Laporte's reaction is pretty funny at that moment.

It's really a damn shame there is no stand. Totally ruins the Surface aspect of it. I'm really torn on what to do. I really like the concept, but WTF?
I was really sold on Book until I realized that there is no stand. WTF? That's what makes it a Surface.
That alone could've solved the wobbly nature of a top heavy laptop when using with a pen.
I'm still in shock at how they could've left out the most important feature. That alone kills it for...
I was looking forward to this on the 3 when they announced North Cape, but hopefully they figured it out for production on the SP4. That would be killer!
I couldn't get my SP3 to connect to my phone's hotspot today.
This build has borked the wifi as it was working on the last one. Tried restarting and rebooting, on the phone too. Other devices could connect to my phone, just not the SP3.
I occasionally get he display driver crash on my pc and that one is using the latest nvidia driver.
I did notice no more popping with 10166 though.
Edge now has localhost working as I read and is showing my server. However, when I play any video through Plex, there is no sound and sometimes...
I packed it for work this morning from a full charge off power at 11:20 am and at 4pm I pulled it out for lunch. It's hot and of course it never went to sleep. Down to 10% battery.
Make sure yours is asleep before you stow it away or it'll be dead in 6 hers.
