I agree about the trackpad. I was setting up a brand new one for a customer this week. The trackpad was POOR. It froze sometimes and right click wasn't reliable. The SP4 trackpad / keyboard I use on my SP3 is way better. In fact the original one on the SP3 is better.

I remember the same posts about the SP3. The problems didn't affect everyone and the same with the SP4. The Surface Book though definitely has been universally panned for bugs. They've released a big fix yesterday evidently.

A lot of these issues are just hysterical. Some people once you suggest an issue, it becomes real for them. PWM is one of these. Old CRT screens Could be nasty but these lovely IPS screens are amazing.

Don't even consider the S3 if you're concerned about performance. It is much slower. It isn't just the CPU speed, it is the storage which uses MMC rather than a proper SSD.

It is just under powered and nothing will fix that. Slow storage like a mobile phone and a slow CPU. It is what it is. I tell customers to always aim for an i3 or faster and it is good advice.
