There are so many Windows laptops and ultrabooks available that it shouldn't be a problem to find the right one that suits your needs. Then there's the Surface: It is neither a laptop nor an ultrabook, so don't consider it if those are your needs.

In my house, everything is wired unless it is absolutely not worth the effort/cost to enable the device to be wired. So, for me, that means I have wireless headsets along with my iPhone and iPad; everything else is wired (e.g., DVD Player, Satellite Receiver, A/V Receiver, etc.).
