I assume you're referring to Windows Remote Desktop? If so, then no I do not believe so. Only works via network connection - wifi or wired.

Just an update, I went to the store, the guy looked at it and confirmed the issue, he went to the back, pulled out a new box and voila, brand new SP3, charger and pen. Everything looks good so far, just had it doing all the latest updates, etc.

The wifi issues that are present are when you are running on battery, not when plugged in. At least that's the issue I was having. Glad you picked one up. It should be a great tool for you, like many others.

Remove it from the Bluetooth pair settings and add it back in. Press and hold the purple button for 7 seconds until you see the green light in between the clip start blinking to enter pair mode for the pen.

I believe you're referring to a mini-Displayport to HDMI cable. I have one of those and it works great. I also have a mini-displayport > displayport cable and it works fine as well. The SP3 does NOT have thunderbolt, only USB3.
