Well you were half right lol. So not much to see but a couple of solid upgrades with the battery life and fanless i5. I'm not bothered on form factor, my first choice between the two (Laptop & Pro) was going to be the price. With the keyboard added (which of course you must do) the Pro works...

So with the next Surface event only being 2 weeks away now, I am going to wait and see what's revealed before placing my order! Tom Warren reckons we're on to see the Surface Pro 5... I'm not so sure. If it is I'll have a hard choice to make! Will probably come down to price/size/colours.

Don't forget $180 Windows 10 S machines are coming... the Surface Laptop is the Chromebook Pixel of laptops. Definitely not for everyone, but is for someone like me who wants a premium (Microsoft made) laptop who'll chuck on Windows 10 Pro straight away! The 8Gb model is out of my price range...

Why do you say that? If anything I'd say the Book is more niche.

Same here I'm on 4Gb and manage to run taxing software such as Ableton & Lightroom without an issue. Only found running multiple HD videos to cause any slow down, or large editing of video files.

Finally it's time for me to upgrade from my original Surface Pro, and this device seems just the ticket :) Shame the UK only gets the one colour, and will have to wait a little longer for release... also the price is pretty horrendous, so I suppose I'll be sticking with the i5/4Gb/128 setup...

I'm on my second Band now, the first one stopped charging (I think some water got into the batteries) Don't know what I'm going to do when it comes to replacement time though! Which'll be 2019... at this rate I'll be going for a Withings!
