    Complaints with the Surface Pro

Must be the surface you're on. Mine is stuck firmly to a plastic table at the moment.

    Civilization 5

It will work. You have to change the display scaling to 100% in order to get the touch to register. Once you do that, it will run full screen and work. I haven't finished a game yet, but maybe I'll do that now.

64 and 128 GB variants now showing out of stock

Just got one at Best Buy. They finally received a sizable shipment. They are out there.

So how many of you settled with a 64 GB Pro?

Well, I didn't settle. I have to admin, I was starting to believe Microsoft didn't make a 128 GB Pro and that it was all just make-believe. Well, I'm typing this post from a Pro right now with a type cover. Beautiful device. I'm glad I waited. By the way, after weeks of no product, Best...

    mastering the touchcover?

OK, I broke down and bought a type cover. I can use the touch cover and will keep it for use on occasion. Keeping your palm on the cover does make sense. Don't get me wrong, I like the touch cover, but I am just much faster when I can feel the keys without looking at them. The space is the...

    type cover stops responding

You're not alone. Just had it happen before replying. Usually it is after the device has woken up after a long sleep. By the way, I'm using an rt so it is not just the pro.

So how many of you settled with a 64 GB Pro?

I have read many posts and blogs talking about driving 500 miles or patiently waiting for a Pro. But, how many of you Pro owners settled for a 64 GB because you just couldn't wait for the 128 GB to show up I stock? I ask from the perspective of someone who passed up a stack of 64 GBs and is...

So, is anyone removing their Surface Pro from their check-in bag for the TSA?

The type and touch look virtually the same on the xray machine.

    Many Issues

I had the same issue, but it is only after you have used a touch keyboard. Like you were told he Surface can under the right condition get confused and not realize the cover is unplugged. The easy quick fix is to plug/unplug a touch keyboard. In the absence of a keyboard, I had luck with a...

    RT & Pro screen comparison

That's a good idea. Place the Surface against a student wearing him/herself out carrying books. Or against an Apple fan who has to us an iPod to listen to music while using an iPad for school books and a Mac Air to take notes... meanwhile, the Surface does it all and can take a Skype call, too.

So, is anyone removing their Surface Pro from their check-in bag for the TSA?

I recently traveled and did not remove the Surface RT from my bag. No problems. I even flew one leg with nothing but my wallet and the Surface. It was nice to fly without hauling a heavy laptop and power supply. The Pro and RT will be no different in the eyes of the TSA.

    Surface Pro Hate

Quite simply, reviewers are bought into Apple and iPAD. Some are religious followers just as some people will lean toward Microsoft. Who knows, maybe some of the reviewers own Apple stock and don't want to see them hurt by a superb product. Whatever the reason, it is obvious when a reviewer is...

    Surface Pro Hate

I took my 13, 7, and 4 year old daughters in the store with me. Without ever seeing a Windows 8 machine in their life, they each sat in front of a Surface RT and began to explore and play without any instruction. They were much more familiar with ipods and androids than anything Microsoft. I...

Microsoft Surface Pro sell-out flap: Is the tablet really that popular?

I don't buy it (no pun intended). Many reviews said wait for the pro. Many people on this forum posted that not only are they waiting for pro, but for the 128 G version. Reviewers were critical of the drive size pushing people to 128 G. This product is overdue and much hyped. There were pre...

Screen Space (Question for Visual Studio Developers)

I have used it successfully to write code, but I have only done it via remote desktop to my desktop pc. It works well as long as you can get used to the touch keyboard. To be honest, I haven't used it like I want to as a stand alone development tool. I'd love to be able to take my Surface...

Article Stating Weak Microsoft Surface Sales......What Do You Think?

I am not surprised. My own experience is something of a testament to what is happening. I found out about the Surface almost by accident months before it came out. I was very motivated to buy one early until the reviews came out. The reviews were mixed with some saying it was the best device...

[Rumor] Microsoft Surface Pro Likely Coming January 29th

If you asked me a couple of months ago, I would have said Pro without hesitation. I am still planning on getting one, but the RT has grown on me. The device has impressed me and the longer battery life will be missed. I can't totally replace my laptop/desktop, but I can use remote desktop to...

    4 Tiles Deep

Having four rows seems to be a bug that someone missed in development. I'm guessing it will get removed rather than allowed. It would be good to make it an option. I actually prefer the four row display. It's still plenty large enough to read and touch.

    4 Tiles Deep

Well here is an answer of sorts. How to get four rows of tiles on your Surface RT | JG's Tech Thoughts I just tried it and it works.

    4 Tiles Deep

thought I was crazy Thanks for posting this. I thought I was crazy, but I had the same four row display. It looked better and I'm trying to figure out how to get it back.
