Has anyone heard anything about the i7 running hotter, throttling etc than the i5? I'm assuming the i7 will handle more and has a better integrated GPU than the i5. I'm looking at both (8/256) for a possible purchase. Aside from the $200 difference, what do you folks think regarding the i7...

You may want to check some of the battery tests making their appearances recently, but it's sounding like the i5 is getting a little better battery life than the m3.

I don't have the new Dock, but there have been a lot of comments like yours about it. I do recall the forum comments when the SP3 dock came out - so many complained of the DP port not working on the dock, but the mDP port on the SP3 worked just fine. Just a comment; no idea what's going on with...

I finally dropped by Best Buy Friday and looked at the demo Surface Book they had. It was the i5 128 version, and the only one they had (demo or otherwise). There was a blue-shirt talking to a couple of ladies about the SP3 and SP4 on the other side of the display table. I tried not to listen...

Which brings another thought to mind: once you've reset your device to pass it on to someone else, does this automatically de-register the device with your Microsoft account and also Office? Or is this something one must attend to manually?

All I've ever used on my SP3 type cover is a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. It looks new. Of course, I haven't gotten it stained, but if so I'd try the rubbing alcohol approach.

Yeah, don't know about the pen since I don't have an SB. On my SP my pen is in the loop on the left side. When I place my SP in its sleeve, the pen goes along for the ride since the sleeve is wide enough to accommodate it attached to the left side when I zip it up.

I've got a SP3 i5/8GB/256 with type cover, MS dock, couple of power supplies, nice padded sleeve...thinking of selling it for a Surface Book.

Frankly, if MS offers a phone with a pen-able screen, I'll be interested. Until that occurs, I'll hang onto the Note series phones. Going W10 across the board is fine with me, but I want the note capability on the phone.

I don't remember where I saw it, but a guy in a video stepped on a Book (it was closed and on the floor) with his shoes on, stood there a few seconds and then stepped off: no damage to the Book.

I read two posts where two people used demos in stores and they hooked up chargers to the clipboard (tablet) apart from the keyboard and it was charging. Wonder if it allows you to transmit data through the dock?

@GreyFox7 ...did as you suggested. Added up all the related processes (at least those identifying themselves in Task Manager) and found Edge 143 MB, Firefox 163 MB, Chrome 136 MB. Again, that was with only one page each open to this site.

Interesting. I used to run 2 external monitors (HDMI) from my MS dock with no issues. I now run one large external monitor (DP) with no issues...strange, but then again, we're talking computers, which I've always found strange in how they choose to work (or not)
