Well, as long as the fan doesn't come on full blast, shut down and then show the thermometer (meaning too hot to power on)... all is good. Guess we were all wrong about it having issues.

I've rarely ever noticed the fan, though it comes on quite frequently on the I7. I think my I5 version was slightly louder, so it seems there is variations between SP3's. Not the I7 vs I5, but from SP3 to SP3.

I think people and particularly the tech media expect a machine to meet claims by the manufacturer. Whether they meet your needs is another issue. It does meet 90% of my needs, but still would like to use the full processing power rather than be throttled back so severely.

Get it, try it, like it. Not sure about the recommendation of the I3 version, it is significantly slower than the other versions.
