Power Cover with SP3 + Pics

Exactly yeah - on it's own without a folio type case it would be a tougher sell for sure, but with the folio it's just so convenient - it charges while attached to a charging SP3, upping the mWh from ~40 to ~70. There's one setting on the Maroo folio in some of those pics where the bottom of...

Power Cover with SP3 + Pics

Bought the Power Cover as 5-6 hours just isn't enough battery when I'm at school all day where wall outlets are hard to come by. Love it so far. Keys have more depth and are more click, and the extra weight balances the keyboard nicely when it's on your lap or a desk. It gives me around...

    Power Cover + SP3

Anyone using it? If so, how much battery life are you getting per full charge compared to just the standalone SP3 battery? Is it worth it? Wouldn't normally consider getting it, but this Mario folio case I have has a bunch of different positions/settings and it's actually more comfortable in...

    Funny Observation about Windows 10

IMO, I'd just prefer it that now, when MS if finally making premium-looking externals, that they put some effort into making the internals, from a superficial standpoint, pretty as well. Just look at the upcoming Yosemite update for OSX, all new color schemes and icons - yet MS can't be...

I'm I the only one that seldom uses the tiles?

The icons on the metro boxes - something like the control panel icon is ancient, then all the new metro apps have nice/new icons. Blowing them all up to big rectangles/boxes accentuates the awful contrast between the Metro UI and the desktop - for all the icon packs revs release for android...

I'm I the only one that seldom uses the tiles?

See to me, the Metro UI is the very definition of clutter. Coloured boxes everywhere that offer little to no customization - icons that are a year old with ones mixed in that are 10+ years old - looks horrid imo as I'm kind of a minimalist. Desktop is nice and clean - couple apps in my taskbar...

I'm I the only one that seldom uses the tiles?

Word/Excel/PowerPoint - sometimes I use different browsers, steam games, PhotoShop, Powershell, Task Manager - lots of stuff. Everything on the metro side just feels neutered and incomplete to me. I guess I do use OneNote sometimes though...

I'm I the only one that seldom uses the tiles?

Only tile/metro app I use is IE - everything else, useless to me - I think the metro start menu is just a wallpaper right now, haven't checked lately.

    Kickstand loose and rattling

That's normal - all 3 that I've had now, (and the 5 that I've opened in stores that had yellow line defects) have all had this wobble at certain angles. Most angles it's solid, but there's certain angles that all have had the wobble out of the box.

Surface Pro 3 competitors? list it!

Helix 2, yoga 3 pro and thinkpad yoga 2 are the 3 products I'll be decidingbetween, will be announced on Oct 9. Fanless designs, better battery, and a proper keyboard main reasons for the switch.

What Phone are you pairing with your SP3?

On my third SP3 now (third time's the charm?) - and currently using the Blackberry Passport with it's Blend program.

    sp3 vs yoga pro2

Yoga 2 pro is also an older machine though - it would be more accurate to wait for the YP 3 or the upcoming Helix in October that will be running fanless.

New iphone owner - how do you integrate with the Surface Pro 3

Also got a new phone today, but went in a completely different direction: got the Blackberry Passport, and it's amazing. Incredible display for productivity, best phone keyboard I've ever used, and BB 10.3 is very nice overall. Phone is much snappier than any of my previous Androids, build...

    Type Cover getting dirty easily

Just go to any Best Buy and look at the display models - generally, the lighter color type covers end up looking horrible - cyan is the worst. The darker the type cover the better. From what I've seen, I'd order them Cyan > Red > Dark Blue > Purple > Black in terms of dirtiest / cleanest...

    Returning my I7 SP3...again.

I'm talking about the Helix 2014 edition though - comes out sometime this October, and its going to have a 'pro' keyboard that has 180 degree rotation - only the cheap keyboard version is fixed in the one position. This - sold me, although I can't lie that part of me wants to give the SP3 1...

    Returning my I7 SP3...again.

This is going to sound ridiculous... but I'm going to return my SP3 (after returning it once, then taking it back because I couldn't live without it). You've probably read my issues with my first SP3 - now, only a handful of days into my tenure with my 2nd SP3 (I7 256), and I'm getting...

Has anyone used Maroo protective cover?

Have it as well - love it, but it does add a little bit of bulk, and it negates the kickstand (although it has its own kickstand that does a decent job). It folds closed with the keyboard, and also, I find, it makes for a much more manageable typing experience when you have the SP3 on your lap...

    Returning my I7 SP3...again.

This is my thinking as well - There's SP3's from way back when still on display at various Microsoft stores (they don't replace the display copies if the incredibly dirty type-covers are any indication) - which don't have the yellow line, and there's also SP3's that do. I think it's an either...

    Returning my I7 SP3...again.

So... I returned the I7 - got a gaming laptop, the Razor Blade, still pretty small form factor for a laptop - and games ran great, but... I missed my I7. Despite all the issues, I decided to return the Blade, and get an exchange for a new I7. No issues so far - MS store let me check for the...

how do you protect your surface 3?

I use this case by Mario - http://www.maroo.com/store/Cases/Surface-Cases/Woodland-Red-for-Surface-Pro-3 It adds a bit of weight, but it also makes the type-cover feel far more firm (less flimsy) when typing. Overall, feels like I'm carrying a light textbook - highly recommended.
