Honestly, you're probably just more of a power-user when it comes to certain activities like browsing. I usually have anywhere from 5-8 tabs open in metro IE, and get around 5 hours like you. I'd recommend getting the Power Cover for extra battery life. I now get anywhere from 7-9.

Call up their support number - you can actually go to the support website, plug in your info with what's wrong, and have them call you back so you're not waiting on the line. Had issues with my first Surface, called them up, and the called me back in under 2 minutes (Canada here)...

Lot 1439 This is the first one that's had no issues... almost zero backlight bleeding, chassis/glass is set perfectly (glass isn't depressed/chassis isn't raised and jagged), zero hint of hazy yellow line, and even the kickstand is stiffer. Think they're getting better at this :)

10.8 inch, with worse resolution, bigger bezels, only 4gigs of ram, and 64/128 storage options, + the new, crappy Core M that performs worse than old Haswells = dead on arrival. Might be a competitor for Surface 2 though...

I have a type cover... Why would I have an SP3 and not have a type cover? The type cover is covering the glass screen protector, encased in a sleeve, encased in a carrying case, which is inside my backpack. Lol - heat is the only outlier I can think of that could be causing the screen protector...

No idea... But I tried running it at full resolution, and even then, the game looked like garbage compared to CIV V. It's like they reskinned it with inferior graphics. And touch doesn't work on it either - uninstalled 30 mins into my first game. Pretty big disappointment - would recommended...

Curious what measures people are taking to protect their SP3's.

Turns on by itself sometimes - assuming books and stuff somehow bump up against the power button even though its enclosed within multiple layers of protection.

Books and paper - but nothing that would affect the SP3, as it was inside a felt sleeve, which was inside of 13 inch laptop case. It was as snug and safe as it could possibly be - only thing affecting it was heat.

Quick update - first 2 weeks the official tempered glass screen protector worked great... and then I started transporting my SP3 to school and back everyday in my backpack. A couple of times my SP3 turned on in my bag and when I took it out it was pretty hot. Unfortunately, one of these times...

I've never been able to get it to work :P. Wish it did work though as I use the pen constantly to compensate for my sausage fingers.
