Yeah, it's not exactly a looker - don't know who thought it would be a good idea to monster-size the bezels with beats speakers... but seeing as I'm 1/6 so far on my SP3's, I'm always on the lookout for potential, viable, replacements.

Interesting specs, the higher model Core M chip, 8g ram, 256g SS drive, 13.3 inches, (16:9 unfortunately), but will be less noticeable considering the larger display, and comes with a detachable keyboard, but a pen is optional. It's also bulkier/heavier, and has some ugly bezels on the sides...

Agreed. I never use the trackpad, and actually turn it off so I don't accidentally touch it. 2-finger scrolling is a nightmare, and for basic cursor positioning, I prefer to use the pen. Having said that, it's 10x better than the older trackpad, but actual laptop trackpads, are also 10x...

This one's not as good as it looks - checked it out at the MS store near me - it attaches to the base of the type cover, not the SP3 itself, which means it's hardly holding the device at all when open. Knock it over by accident or something while it's in the case and the SP3 will go flying as...

Metrotown Best Buy / Burnaby, Canada. It's pretty awful. Didn't check the other demo screens, but the entire Surface area is really dirty, with gross touch covers attached to SP3's everywhere. Doubt they sell anything - and of course, the Apple section is pristine.

Doesn't seem right... when I bought my SP3, they just grabbed the color of type cover I wanted off of the display of type covers in the section of the store that sells them. Had the loop - also on the two replacement copies I got, same thing, grabbed one from the general supply. The box itself...

Canada here, and yes, all SP3 type covers come with pen loop. Have you been buying old SP/SP2 covers? Bottom right corner of the box. Have purchased 3 myself due to deficiencies and to try out different colors. All have come with pen loops.

Yep it charges - also disappointed no SP3 power cover, but my thinking is they probably had a ton of SP2 power covers unsold, and wanted to sell them through (as they only came out a few months before the SP3, late in the SP2's lifecycle). Wouldn't be surprised if MS thought the SP2 form factor...

Strange, as mine closes perfectly. Only other thing I can think of is that you're attaching the plastic part of the loop in the gap, which does result in it to not close flat. You need to trim it and then only use the sticky part of the loop - but I'm assuming you've done all this correctly.

Think you'll probably be fine - but having said that, I'd get some protection or something for it, be that a folio/hard case, screen protector, or whatever, because it looks like you've beat the shit out of it. Maybe look into getting a folio like the Maroo one, which clasps onto the 4 corners...

Uhh you must be doing it wrong, because it closes perfectly. You probably have it positioned right up against the hinge - lower it a few mm and it'll close as if it's not there. As for why, it sticks better than against the fabric of the type cover. Also, I like having it on my device at all...

Trim the end of the pen loop and stick it up by the hinge as in these pics. Sticks better, more out of the way. Just make sure it's on the left side of the device so you're not obscuring the charging port.

My thoughts yeah. :). Only thing holding my back from a Power Cover before was that when you closed the SP3 with the Power Cover it didn't cover the entire screen - but a folio solves that, (either by closing the folio with the PC attached, or by taking the PC off and slotting it in a carrying...

Works perfectly. The SP3 battery is around 42000 mWh, while the Power Cover adds 27000 mWh, so you're getting more than 50% extra battery life. It's a worthwhile trade-off for not covering the screen completely, especially, if you use a folio type cover that performs this function like in my...
