The Power Cover used on the SP2 works on the SP3, but the cover will be quite small. It works as a secondary battery source.

I have an unlimited data plan with Sprint (for YEARS!) so I can tether to any Wifi enabled device and not worry about going over a certain GB each month. I rather do that route than get a device that has LTE built in and you have to add it on to your plan.

Funny, I was so close to getting a Surface 3 (one of the main features being MicroUSB charging) if I was able to get the accessories bundled for $600 (or around that price), but instead got a SP3 i5,4GB,128GB model instead and couldn't be more pleased. It was a lot cheaper too.
