Sustained High CPU Usage is Back

Ignore what I said.. still happening. Seams to happen after you first put it to sleep. Killing Windows driver foundation fixes it.

SP2 waking from sleep mode in Win10

by doing: powercfg -lastwake on the command prompt, you can see what is the last device/program/service that wakes up the computer. Probably the system wants to do its maintenance cycle. I recommend to disable sleep, place the device in a cool place, open the Action center of Windows 7/8 (Search...

Sustained High CPU Usage is Back

Try this: 1- Disable "Show me tips about Windows" (Settings > System > Notifications & actions) 2- Remove any SD card from the system. SP2 seams to have a problem with the SD card reader. 3- Make sure that Windows is fully updated, and that the App store apps are also fully updated (Store >...

S3 Screen Flicker + What driver?

Yup. So the solution is to change the driver configurations, which is what my software does. However, I don't have a S3, and even if I did, it won't help, as I need to work with the same driver version from Intel, yet Intel has not released to the public their graphics drivers yet.

S3 Screen Flicker + What driver?

Nope. The tool as Microsoft explains only defers the update for 'several months' While allowing you to continue to have Windows 10 automatically installed.

S3 Screen Flicker + What driver?

The solution #11 replaces the Microsoft Intel version drivers with Intel drivers. This is something you can no longer do in Windows 10, as Windows 10 will force updates the Microsoft ones. Before, with Windows 8, you could hide updates. Now, you can't anymore. It is not a Surface thing, it is a...

S3 Screen Flicker + What driver?

It is Intel integrated graphics for you, sadly. Surface Pro 1, 2 and 3 also faces this problem, and I expect the Pro 4 and so on do as well, same for all laptops powered by Intel integrated graphics (at least they have their Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, however). For Atom based CPUs, I...

    Weird Shortcut ?

I cannot replicate this on my SP2. Maybe an issue with SP2 with the old revision of the device?

    SP3 vs SP4

What is expected: -> Better camera with auto-focus feature. Why? The Surface non-Pro 3 has one, if I am not mistaken. -> Skylake CPU. only ~5-10% performance boost, but the GPU is expected to be more powerful (sadly, crappy drivers, remains crappy). Potentially reduce system heat, as the GPU...

New Intel Drivers release by Microsoft for Surface Pro 2

The problem is not Windows 10. It is Intel drivers. The buggest problem is that Intel treats its graphics chip as a free solution. So minimal amount of effort is put into it, limited resources is also given. It will most likelly take a long time before everything works. Nvidia and AMD already...

New Intel Drivers release by Microsoft for Surface Pro 2

New Intel drivers has been released for the Surface Pro 2 running Windows 10, make sure you have it installed via Windows update. If you do already have it, or just installed it, did you see any improvement on the device?

    Windows 10 upgrade on a SP2 thread

I have to disagree with you. Windows 10 is nice OS. The problem you face are why the "Get Windows 10" app says that the device is not ready. Manufactures started to work on their drivers at the last minute (another Vista story.. at least manufactures don't force you to buy new hardware this time...

    waking up at random

There is testing... and there is testing... Microsoft trust the manufacture testing. Yes they test in their side as well, but not any in depth testing. If Microsoft really tested everything and only certified the good one, we would still have no Win10 drivers today for most of our hardware.

They are certified. Certified that it won't harm your system, and that the drivers are truly from the manufacture, but it pretty much stops there. Microsoft doesn't do the testing from the manufacture.

It only checks if Win10 drivers exists, not that they are any good.

SP3 becomes hot even with simple applications

The problem is driver related. Many hardware manufacture worked on their drivers at the last minute and rushed something out for Win10 release. On any system, expect things crashing silently, sleep/wakeup issues, and hardware not power saving right. I know that Intel is having serious issues...

    Windows 10 how-to sp2

Be aware that the SP2 is not Windows 10 ready YET. As the "Get Windows 10" app states: Microsoft is working with it's partners to make the system ready. The problem is not Windows 10, or the device hardware. The problem is drivers. Most manufactures started developing their Windows 10 drivers at...

    waking up at random

The problem is driver related. If you check the "Get Windows 10" app, it states that the device (Surface Pro 2 ), is not Windows 10 ready yet, and that Microsoft is working with its partners to make that happen. What it means is that drivers aren't Windows 10 ready. The biggest problem is that...

Windows 10 Driver Pack is Available for Surface Pro 2 :-)

If you want to try them and see if its better (I am not on Win10), you need to install them via device manager. So: Extract all files open Device Manager and for each device hardware, right-click and select "update drivers software", then a panel will show. On it, click on Browse, and select...
