Type cover not working since upgrade to Win 10

I don't have the problem. But you can downgrade to Windows 8.1 (Settings > Update & Security > Recovery), just to make sure that your keyboard still works. You can also try and go in the UEFI setup screen, and see if it works there.

Sustained High CPU Usage is Back

Use Windows 10 latest Insider build. No problem there. I do have on rare occasion the CPU usage increase, but it is because of Intel drivers. Using the latest Intel drivers seams so far to solve the problem.

    Type cover isn't working properly

If it is under the warranty, you can replace it. In my case, the keyboard wasn't, but my credit card added 1 year warranty to anything electronic I buy. So I was covered that way (the credit card insurance got me the keyboard). In your case, you probably had liquid or dirt stuck under a key...

    Benefits from SP1 => SP4?

You get improved performance. Boot time, program startups should be similar (because the SP1 has a fast SSD already), but doing CPU task it will be better. GPU performance will be much improved. The device is lighter and have much better battery life. It is a bit bigger but you gain so much...

What happens with the recovery partiton after the upgrade?

I recall Microsoft said during the beta that it gets upgraded. Regardless, you can get the recovery image from Microsoft website for the SP2. All you need is a flash drive of 8GB, or a partitioned external HDD of 8GB, in FAT32, extract the downloaded image files on the partition, plug it in to...

    Windows 10 how-to sp2

I upgraded, but my experience was awful with huge issues. It got better once I installed Windows 10 Insider Preview, got the latest build from the Fast Ring, and use the latest Intel integrated graphics drivers. The biggest issue that remain for me, is on rare occasion I need to restart the...

    Awesome iPad Pro Web Comic.

Apple used i, for Internet. To say: Internet Macintosh, which the marketing team said it was a stupid name, but Steve Jobs insisted in having that name. So, we have iMac. And this is how it all started. I is also used for other names like individual. The reason why it was called Internet...

    Type cover isn't working properly

After very close inspection, I can see that one of the wires within the ribbon cable is cut on mine. The cut looks like a normal one that you would get when you bend metal at the same place for 1 too many times. So, it would mean that any position that put strain on the ribbon cable, will, over...

    pen inaccuracy

All on screen digitizer pen aren't as good as the real thing, mostly due to power constraints and size (including the pen). You'll probably get a far better experience with Wacom Companion Pro, as Wacom uses technology that it doesn't share with others. That is also why, as previously mentioned...

Intel has just released new drivers for the Intel integrated graphics for Windows 10. You can get them here: Intel® Download Center Cool thing I noticed is that Windows Update will bring up the system firmware upgrade again after the Intel integrated graphics has been installed, but when...

    Type cover isn't working properly

I have gotten another type cover a while back, but I still have my broken keyboard. I decided to tear it down to see if I can fix it, or at least identify the potential problem. I discovered that there is no components on the ribbon cable. where you have the center mark. Very interesting.

    Awesome iPad Pro Web Comic.

After seeing the press event, now the Surface line looks far more affordable :) One thing that no one catch, is that the pen of the iPad Pro, needs to connect to the lightning connector of the iPad Pro to charge. Imagine using the device with a long pen sticking on the side. That is asking for...

    pen inaccuracy

Yea it is a reduced. The problem with Wacom technology is that the entire pen is being tracked, so as the pen leaves the screen on your right, it looses tracking ability, and gets progressively worse. If you look at the good Wacom tablets surfaces, you can see that they tend of have a large...

    pen inaccuracy

If you install WinTab drivers, then the calibration changes to the Wacom one. My software does nothing at this point, and your previous calibration will be lost. Under Windows 8 and above, you have something called: Windows Ink API interface. If a program supports it, it supports all...

    pen inaccuracy

The pen technology is all about interference detection to put is it in a but shell. So basically, it detects a specific interference and estimate where the pen is. You can calibrate the pen, sadly Microsoft built-in calibration layout, is a very generic one untouched since Windows XP, and isn't...

Surface Pro 2 Windows 10 issue

Clearly driver issues, and maybe some OS bugs. I think SP2 users are best to wait for the rumored Threshold 2 (TH2) update. Rumor says that it will come out in October or November, and big this massive update of improvements and bug fixes. Not really much on the new feature side of thing, just...
