    Activation issue after upgrade

Ok. I think Microsoft's activation servers are getting slammed right now. I would wait a bit and see if the problem clears up. Apparently many people are having to click the Activate button many many times before it finally takes, so I'm guessing it's just a server issue at the moment.

Windows 10: Finally a decent Windows first release

Nothing wrong with that. Use it on your desktop first and get a feel for it. Under the hood I consider Win 8.1 to be a good OS, but there are some tablet-specific things about Win 10's GUI that I really like on my SP3.

    Screen Protector worth it?

I've had the Surface Pro 1 since a couple months after it's release day, and the SP3 I pre-ordered. I've never put a screen protector on either one, and never had cause to regret it. I always kept the Touch/TypeCover over the screen when not in use.

Windows 10: Finally a decent Windows first release

Pretty much agree. Windows 8 itself is a great OS, solid and stable, etc. It's the completely bat-crazy implementation of Metro Vs. Desktop that they tried to force on everyone that was the issue. Almost all my customers, I'd do a clean install and install Classic Shell and they were totally...

    Touchscreen not working

If you did indeed do a full reset, and your touch still did not work after that, I can't imagine anything else that it could be but a hardware problem. When did you buy the SP3?

New User with a few questions

John, Leeshor is correct, Windows 10 will do just fine on that machine. The other school of thought is, use the thing and charge it as you see fit, and make sure you discharge the battery to below 10% once a month.

Surface 3 lte for science sphere. Recommended it to me?

This is good advice @viktit88, perhaps there is a way you can try one out, even if there is a small fee to return it. At least then you'd know for sure and can decide for yourself.

    Speak to Type

I'm not trying to derail your original idea, but I think this would be far easier to do on your smartphone. For example, I do this exact thing on my iPhone 6- open then Notes app, tap the mic button, start talking. I then sent the notes to myself in an email, or can export them to Dropbox...

    Touchscreen not working

Just to be clear, you did a Reset, and not a Refresh? When the reset was done, your machine would have been returned to factory state, and all your programs and files would be gone. Is that what you did?

    Phone calls?

Well the primary reason for built-in LTE is so that your Surface can get data/ Internet connectivity from your cell phone provider, and not have to be tethered to a phone. When you're working in the field or traveling or whatever. You could use a headset and Skype or some other such app to make...

    Having problems with time sync

I have never heard of the issue outside of this thread. If it continues, if it was ME, I'd check the event logs for anything suspicious. If nothing stands out, then I'd back up all my data and then do a full reset, the instructions are here-...
