I'm running VMWare Workstation 10 and have no problems. I also have a W7 VM that has no problems.

A few other folks have mentioned this as well. I have auto updates enabled and I haven't had any problems (fingers crossed). Are other folks having this issue or do you have auto updates turned on?

Frank, @ctitanic , has a pinned thread at the beginning of this forum that has a link explaining how to download and create a recovery disk/image. Very useful. I used it to crate a recovery USB image in case I need it.

Threw caution to the wind and went all in. Installed on SP3 and so far it's ok. I'll be playing with it and hope I don't have any problems tomorrow when I take it out to meetings. Not to sure about the return of the Start menu. I've gotten used to not using it.

I take notes every day. I haven't noticed any difference at all. I would highly recommend that you let the Best Buy (or whomever you buy from) folks put it on. It can be tricky.

I use my i7 with similar use cases as the OP and I have no heat issues. I think I've heard the fan a few times if ever. Does it get hot once in a while, sure, but then so did my i5. I've been using my i7 today, with no heat or fan. Been web browsing and downloaded 4 movies totaling ~20GB.

I didn't think folks used external players any more. Usually you rip movies and copy to disk or stream. You also create ISO's of your software programs. Just curious, how many folks out there still using an external DVD player?

That looks really cool. I like the concept but not to sure about carrying it rolled up. Still, to be able to go from laptop to larger tablet is awesome. But (there's always a but), I wonder how practical it would be to open a 17" tablet in a meeting.
