I just don't see that extending the size of the current form factor is a good idea. It's already an awkwardly large tablet to hold. I can see a larger more traditional laptop or convertible design. But a 14" tablet design, no thank you.
I had similar issues and had to reboot my system twice. Everything is now working as expected except my update history shows it failed. Windows Update isn't offering it again so I'm not really sure of it's ultimate status.
Recently, I've tried to play several games on my Surface Pro 3 and I'm having issues with all of them because of the touchpad on the type cover. It's impossible to click and hold which almost all games require (right or left click + hold). Is there any sort of workaround or configuration...
I don't see myself buying a SP4. My Surface Pro 3 is just humming along and can't picture a must have feature in the SP4. The rumors or a higher resolution screen or larger form factor don't interest me. A processor bump is always nice but not worth the cash.
Windows 8.1 is dead. It's a tainted brand that Microsoft can't run away from fastest enough. The best you could hope for is that Windows 10 adopts more of the features you liked in Win 8.1.
I don't see a 14" tablet as being very usable for most people. I already find the 12" size a bit cumbersome. I think a 14" laptop as a better offering.
Actually, I heard a rumor that the SP5 will be coming early '16 on the tail of the Intel crystalstream processor release. :p
I would love to be the yes camp but it's too much of a hassle to mess around with selling my SP3.
Windows 8 UI was a completely disjointed experience. Windows 10 UI is a much more cohesive experience. Microsoft compromised some tablet feature to make a better overall experience. It was the right move for them to make.
I was just going to make the same post. Under the same work loads my SP3 runs little hot (ie: fan is runnin more frequently). I noticed the Edge seems to hog up system resources especially if you leave to running for awhile. I wondering if there's some leaking going there somewhere.
I don't see a good reason at this time to do a fresh install. The update method used by Windows is much more advanced then in the past and you'll get a clean machine after the upgrade.
One last hurdle for me before I upgrade to Win 10. I've been using VMware Workstation to run test and development VM's. I'm not sure I can stomach paying another $150 to upgrade it again. Were the issues with hibernate and sleep mode ever resolved when hyper-v is enabled on the SP3? Also...
