I just noticed something... after installing mailbird on my SB and browsing through my email my surface hanged again... not sure if that is the culprit. It uses more resources than chrome. EDIT: definitely not the mailbird app... My surface just hanged again!

Yeah I reinstalled everything and still keeps happening randomly. I got my surface from a store. If this doesn't work out, I will just return it. And keep using my surface pro 3. Its just disappointing...

i can attest to this. as a matter of fact super bright sunlight makes it even harder to sign in. Just an observation :D

i would definitely get the sp3 dock if you really need a dock that is cheaper.

i have an i5 256gb with gpu keyboard. i have updated whatever needs updating through the windows update. i am just surfing the net with chrome with mail and small apps open and the surface book just hangs will not respond to any keyboard press or the mouse or the touchscreen. not even control...

Did you try sopping and restarting the process again? It might just be stuck in something...

That sounds like a sound plan. But if you are on a budget, why not consider the surface 3 as well... I think that could still save you more $$$. Really depends on what you want to do with the device. Sometimes the atom s3 vs the i3 sp3 is a wash. Except for the size and storage.

I use one note a lot so sometimes I find myself doing "print to onenote" for web sites or even pdf's that I want to put notes on.

Just to clarify there are 2 versions of the new keyboard. One with finger print reader and the other without. Both are compatible with the sp3 according to Ms store website.
